rasa ria fieldtrip

we will spend a day at rasa ria mainly to be able to see the orangutans feeding.

Can somebody tell us how it works like?

What do we do and when?

How do we get there from the city?

Can we use the hotel facilities?

thanks in advance

Hi Telmomom - you simply phone the reception of the Rasa Ria (when you%26#39;re here it%26#39;s 792 888) and book your spot.

There%26#39;s two feedings per day and its quite popular, so do book a day or two in advance. You then go orang utan centre, say your name and pay.

To get to the hotel you%26#39;ll probably need to take a taxi. If you%26#39;re staying at another hotel, the concierge can arrange the visit and a transfer for you, but this usually works out more expensive.

When you%26#39;re at the hotel you will have access to all the public areas, including the restaurants. You pay cash for whatever you do. I%26#39;m not sure if you%26#39;re officially allowed to use the other facilities, but I%26#39;m also not sure if anybody would actually stop you if you do.

You have to sign stuff to your room (if you play tennis or get a towel for the pool), so they will likely tell you at that point if you can%26#39;t use something that%26#39;s only for guests.

Hi

There are 2 feeding a day, one in the moment and one in the afternoon. The orang-utan centre is at the far end of the resort.

It will be much cheaper to organise it youself and book a taxi to / from Rasa ria.

You will not be able to use the guest facilities ~(pools etc) especially the Ocean Wing facilities where stricter controls are in place, but you will be able to use the beach, which is very nice indeed. You will be able to buy snacks and drink, but these are expensive in the resort compared to outside.

Have fun
