Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Hi

I%26#39;ve been trying to contact the Borneo Rainforest Lodge for the past 2 weeks to check availablity. I have tried to call but have been unable to get through. I have not received any replies to my email either.

Has anyone else had the same problems? I would be grateful for some words of advice...

Thanks

I%26#39;m having a similar problem. I haven%26#39;t been as proactive as you but I have emailed them 4 times over the last month. The only reply I%26#39;ve had was an %26#39;order reference number%26#39; and promise that they would process my request (which was %26#39;we want to stay with you%26#39;). That was late July.

To be honest, I was going to leave it until we get to Sabah. Apparently they have an office in Ladad Datu and they are rarely fully booked (due to cost) and you can always stay at the Field Centre.

Or head to Tabin instead.

If you find a magic solution to the issue, could you let me know?

thanks.

Hi

I had to resort to contacting a travel agent in Kota Kinabalu who made the reservation for me. Her name is Sabrina Stawin and her email is sabrina@intra-travel.com.my

She is really helpful and is currenlty helping me with a few other reservations.

Hope that helps.

thanks heaps for that!

Hi,

I%26#39;m also having trouble getting a reply - about our booking and how we receive our booked flight tickets. We%26#39;re due to visit in a few weeks %26amp; have flights are being booked through BRL. I%26#39;ve now e-mailed 3 times over 2 weeks and had no reply. I%26#39;m glad to see from your postings that I%26#39;m not alone in having this problem.

Does anyone know how tickets are usually collected / arranged (should we expect an e-mailed e-ticket?) for flights from Kota Kinabalu to Lahad Datu?

Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone knew if it was better to book through the borneorainforest.com website or the www.borneonaturetours.com? The first website is much more impressive with loads more detail but I had thought that the second was with the official ie. direct website.

Can anyone cast any light on this or has anyone had success booking directly with either recently? I%26#39;m not going until next year but this thread is concerning me a little and I%26#39;m wondering if it might be easier to book a package from the UK, something I%26#39;d been trying to avoid.

Hi,

I have contacted both websites several times over the past weeks, but I%26#39;m not getting any reaction either.

Is the Borneo Rainforest Lodge still in business or are they fading out ?

Regards,

Tonny

Guys

I did a DIY Borneo tour earlier this year and generally it took alot of emailing to get replies , but it was so worth it financially.

The big ';nature tour'; companies seem to be legit and there is little if any difference in price between them and the lodges%26#39; own price.

The Borneo Rainforest Lodge is an amazing property and you will love it there , just persevere!

Have a wonderful trip !

Hi,

I posted 3 days ago about the lack of replies to e-mails from Borneo Rainforest Lodge - they have now sent full details of our trip and e-tickets for the flights, so keep trying. The trip does look great.

We booked directly through their website.

Thanks.

I%26#39;m sorry to say I am having the same problem in getting a response to e-mail request for information at the end of October, 2008.

We stayed with them in Spring 2007. It was a wonderful experience and we are trying to arrange another visit.

Has anyone found a way to sucessfully contact them or do we simply book through an agent, hold our breath and hope that any special requests can be worked when we arrive.

Quite often what people find when dealing with hotels directly is they have lousy reservation personnel, as they are hired cheaply to mainly deal with taking calls and putting in reservations. And often these people change around quickly. Borneo Rainforest Lodge is a small lodge/company, so if you prefer to book directly with them you ought to show a little more patience. Otherwise you can book with travel specialists who work closely with the local lodge/hotel, hence in a way by-passing the bottleneck. The bargaining power booking as an individual is less than the travel specialists, and I%26#39;d say they know better what works for their clients based on feedbacks from their previous clients, rather than the personnel who is just there to deal with calls and reservations if you know what I mean. Anyway the tours organised by Borneo Rainforest Lodge are fabulous and please do not be put off by their lack of response.
