cantonese dim sun

Although there are many places and days on which to get dim-sum, Sundays are big dim-sum days and before lunch (breakfast - brunch) is usually best.

Most of the big hotels probably do dim-sum buffets, but they%26#39;re expensive and not always up to par.

If you want the real deal, you have to go a little off the beaten track. Here my favourites:

Foo Ping in Lintas is about 10 - 15 minutes away from the city centre in a part of town you%26#39;re not likely to find many other tourists. But the dim-sum choice is dazzling and the prices are quite reasonable.

Royal China in the D%26#39;Junction Complex is another huge venue which is packed on Dim Sum Sunday. Again, good choice and variety and well affordable.

In a neighbourhood called Foh Sang there%26#39;s a little restaurant called See Park, which is a seriously local eatery. Probably the cheapest of the lot - not sure if all the taxi drivers would know where it is, but it%26#39;s on the same block as Diamond (Chinese restaurant which is quite popular) and Southern Bakery.
