dive/golf/spa

could anyone offer advice , as to a good medium grade hotel, that a mixed group could use., the priorities are ,1) being able to dive preferably with ';down below'; 2)Golf , 3) spa , access to the Orangs, and maybe local restaurants, Is that a bit too demanding in Kota Kinabalu region??. we will fly from singapore and stay for 7-10 days, early next year.

Hi

its going to be difficult to tick all the boxes with one hotel

1) Any hotel will be good for Downbelow - although some hotels like Shangri-la Rasa Ria and Nexus will have a premium for pick up.

2) There is a golf course at the Rasa Ria

3) Both the Shangri-la hotels, Rasa Ria and Tanjung Aru, Nexus and Sutera Harbour Resort have spas.

4) The only hotel with access to the orang-utans is the Rasa Ria, as there is a santuary for the young orangs%26#39; on site

5) The only hotels with good local restaurants are those in the center of KK, like Le Meridien. Tanjung Aru or Sutera Harbour are 5mins taxi ride to the town centre, whilst Rasa Ria or Nexus are 40mins from town and 20mins from a local restaurant.

So, now you take your money and take your choice . . .

Have fun!

Closest you%26#39;ll get to all but 2 is Sutera Harbour Resort.

- Down Below%26#39;s boat is moored in their marina,

- It has a 27-hole golf course,

- It has 2 Mandara Spas,

- It%26#39;s 5 minutes by taxi from the city centre and near Grace Point, local restaurants abound - free shuttle to and from the city every hour.

It%26#39;s not quite medium grade when it comes to the price though - it%26#39;s a 5-star resort. You can check out their website (www.suteraharbour.com) maybe they have some specials.

Also, the nearest orang utans are 40 minute away in Rasa Ria, but you can get the concierge to arrange that and non-Rasa Ria guests can go too.
