Fishing boat trip

Bit of a long shot this one but maybe someone might have an idea.

We%26#39;ll hopefully manage a few days somewhere at the coast in late April, dependent upon just how good Taman Negara is.

We would be interested in going out for a day with a commercial fishing boat - for bird watching, not fishing. From what I hear, there has been very little pelagic birding done off the Malaysian Peninsular and so it could be quite exciting.

Does anybody have any idea how we might go about getting on to a fishing boat? We%26#39;d really want one that goes out on a daily basis for commercial fishing - the birds will come closest when the nets are being hauled in.

We%26#39;re most likely to be somewhere north of Kuala Lumpur, but either coast would do. We would not be at all worried about, say a 3 a.m. start but it would be nice to get back before bedtime.

Any suggestions re where might be good places just to walk up to a skipper and negotiate? I suppose it would be good to have somewhere reasonably nice nearby to stay, and we%26#39;ll have car.
