Getting from Tawau/Semporna to Sandakan/Sepilok

I will be in Sipadan diving early april and want to head up to the sepilok orang-utang nature reserve for a few days... How can i avoid flying back to KK and onto Sandakan... etc

Can i get a bus or taxi from Semporna and how much would it cost and how long would it take?

Hi, we are doing the same thing and I read in Lonely Planet that there are buses to Sandakan, departs hourly form the stand in Sabindo Square in Tawau.5 hours. There are also frequent minibuses to Sempora that takes 2 hours.

Yes there are frequent large buses , mini buses and taxis if you get stuck.The roads are in excellent conditiion and of course the people incredibly friendly and helpful

You will have a great trip , it%26#39;s an amazing area and getting around could not be easier.
