Honeymoon to Malaysia

Hi,

Looking to go on honeymoon to Malaysia in Sept %26#39;09 for approx 2 weeks.

Initially was looking at going to KL, Penang and then stop in Hong Kong before heading back to the UK. I am now in 2 minds wether to goto Lankawi instead.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a Honeymoon..i.e which places to visit and ideal resorts for honeymoons etc.

Hmm - OK, first off, this is the Kuching, Sarawak forum. If you want Langkawi info it is best to ask in that forum.

Do you mean KL, Penang and Langkawi or just Langkawi?

Going to HK is out of your way unless you are going there for a reason or flying to Australia.

Any way, will assume you mean KL, Penang %26amp; Langakawi - that is a GREAT combination - it gives you the mix of modern city (KL), old colonial city (Penang) with all it%26#39;s history, sites and food plus beautiful Langkawi for a chil out on the beach.

I would look at KL for 3 days. Then VIP express bus to Penang (takes about 4.5 hours and is a bit like Biz Class on an air plane).

Penang for 5 days

Fly or ferry to Langkawi 5 days.

Fly to KL and home.

The reason why stopping in Hong Kong is due to the flights we are looking to book go to KL via HK so on the way back are stopping there for 2 to 3 nights.

I am in 2 minds of Penang of langkawi..which is better for the beaches?

Penang and Langkawi are very very different.

Penang and Langakwi are totally different, Langkawi is relaxed and has nice beaches, Penang is busier with heritage, history, great eateries and a beach which is nice but the water is murky.

The Langakwi or Penang forum might be a better fishing ground for tips than the Kuching - which is in Borneo.
