Hi

Its a balance. Sepang circuit and the airport is 1 hour from the city. So one of you will have to travel.

A mid way might be somewhere like the Hilton or Le Meridien at KL Sentral, whilst I think hotels are a bit out of town, they are well connected via train to KLIA and taxi to Sepang circuit, and is a short walk to either the train or the monorail to the main shopping areas.

Head 6 stops along the monorail from Kl Sentral to Bukit Bintang 鈥?A great place for shopping and eating. Sungai Wang/BB Plaza [500 shops and a real Malaysian treat of all sorts of bargains hidden away], KL Plaza, Times Square [which also has a theme park], Pavillion [Mid to top end shops and also the best food court which is reasonably priced, very good mix of restaurants plus a supermarket], Lot 10 [also has a supermarket], Starhill Gallery [very top end but some very nice reasonably priced restaurants], Plaza Low Yat [IT mall], YTL Plaza, BB Park, Imbi Plaza for shopping, plus there are many open fronted shops which offer some great bargains and are identical to those in Chinatown and then there is Jalan Alor is a great place for street food and many restaurants along Bukit Bintang. Ain Arabia or Arab Street is just around the corner in Jalan Berangan, the shopping haven and food and culture of the Arabs in Malaysia.

or 5 stops along the train line from KL Sentral to KLCC, and home of Petronas Towers/ Suria KLCC mall / Petrosains Discovery Centre / Kuala Lumpur City Centre park - you can only get up to the sky bridge on the 41st/42nd floor, but need to get there early (0800) and its closed on Monday, but the view are not the brill%26#39;, KL Menara has the best views as you are at 94m - you could also head 8 stops along the monorail to Bukit Nanasa for KL Menara and then 5min walk to KLCC

Have fun.

Ive been told txis are a no no because of traffic he will need to get to circuit by train to airport

Hi, two(or three hotels ) in KL with lovely pool

are Mandarin Oriental KL (MOKL),and KL Hilton co shared with Le Meriden hotel.

KL Hilton/Le Meriden hotel is linked to KL transportation hub-KL Sentral, and this is also ,where your hubby will take the ERL transit train to KLIA station, then transfer onto coach to the FI circuit.

Mandarin Oriental-located in KLCC vicinity provides convenience to shopping at Suria KLCC,and also to the LRT station of KLCC.

With these hotels locality, you will find it easy to get around the city, with usage of LRT/monorail.

Monorail station at KL Sentral is located across the road from KL Sentral terminus building.

Personally,I would prefer MOKL,then your hubby can also transfer himself to KL Sentral at KLCC LRT station, then take the ERL transit.

Taxi is a no no on race day,as traffic will be snake like especially 1-2 hours before race time; better to take ERL transit train into KLIA station, then transfer onto coach.

I have personally experience this traffic build up on race day,and was rather anxious that I could miss my plane, and it was more than 3hours to race time.

Stay at the Hilton and Meridien Sentral. You husband just needs to walk across the road and take the train from the station to KLIA and then the bus to the circuit. They are having some promotional rates at the moment for train and bus tickets:

You can relax at the two pools. if you need to get to the city, just walk downstairs to catch a couponed cab (please don%26#39;t take the dark blue hotel premier cabs at the lobby as they cost 3 times more than a normal cab). With a couponed cab; you can go wherever you want without any problems; not haggling; no one ripping you off; no hassle whatsoever. Pay Rm 9 to Chinatown; Rm 12 to Bukit Bintang; and RM 5 to Midvalley/the Gardens (the newest and nicest shopping mall in KL). If you can%26#39;t find a cab driver at Bukit Bintang who wants to take you back to the Hilton for RM 10/meter (they will all quote you RM 25 as usual); just catch a train/monorail back to the Sentral and walk up to the hotel. You can also hire the cabs for hourly charges (don%26#39;t pay more than RM 20 an hour); and he will bring you around KL for sightseeing and bring you back to the hotel safely.

You have more than enough in-house restaurants to dine in - Ikateru (Japanese); Broadwalk (BBQ); Sudu (Mixed cuisine); Chynna (Chinese); Senses (Fusion/Australian); Cafe Chino (cakes); Zeta Bar and Wine %26amp;Cigar Bar; and at the Le Meridien - Prime (steaks); Latest Recipe (mixed), Al-Nafourah (lebanese). If you need a quick snack and coffee; there is a Food Court, MacDonalds, KFC, DunkinDonuts, Starbucks, Penettone, Chicken Rice shop, convenience stores and a very very nice and huge Bookstore (opposite KFC) for all your books and magazines. The next largest retail mall is Midvalley The Gardens (one train stop away with KTM Kommuter). There is absolutely NO NEED to get into the hassle and traffic/Taxi chaos of Jalan Bukit Bintang if you stay at the KL Sentral.

If you are flying Malaysia Airlines/Brunei/Cathay; you can also check-in for your flight at the Air terminal at KL Sentral instead of doing it at the airport. It takes 28mins from the KLIA International to the KL Sentral with the KLIA Express.

Hope it helps and happy planning! I hope there are still rooms available as the hilton and Le Meridien are VERY VERY popular esp during F1.
