Advice needed - 2D in KK

Will be landing in KK on 21 March (Sat) at 12pm and leaving on 23 Mar (Mon) at 11am - just a short relaxing getaway, want to have some time chilling out on a beach.

Need help to decide where to stay - have picked out Shangri-La Rasa Ria but undecided about whether to make it one night at Shangri-La Rasa Ria and one night in a hotel in the city centre or just stay both nights in Shangri-La Rasa Ria. Is there enough to do in the city to justify staying a night there?

Will it also be cheaper getting to the airport from the city?

Realized that Rasa Ria is quite inconvenient transport-wise. Ok with taking cab from the airport to the hotel (about RM90) but will there be cabs to catch from Rasa Ria to the airport?

Hope someone out there can help :)

Hi

generally people use KK as a base for wildlife and other expeditions. They do have the islands just off the coast, which are a lovely day out. You can also visit 1Borneo for some shopping, or wander around the town (look at THINGS TO SO in the left hand panel)

Rasa Ria is a fabulous hotel. Taxis are easy from RR to KK, the hotel will just call one up for you.

I suggest you do 1 night in each resort so as to experience each resort%26#39;s unique touch.

Rasa Ria is a nature resort; therefore also promoting a relaxed ambiance and a closer-to-nature experience. With the orang utans just a few steps from the lobby, you also get to enjoy the unspoiled and almost secluded beach that makes an ideal nature resort gateway. If I remember correctly, taxi to KKIA costs around RM120-140.

Tanjung Aru is a business resort; without compromising business needs and nature ambiance, the resort does have its tiny beach area just beside its Pulau Bayu Restaurant This resort is closer to almost everything, ranging from shopping, trip excursions and adventure expeditions.

Hi

The taxi fee quoted above is the the premier cab, a budget call will KKIA to RR will cost 80myr.

Tanjung Rhu is a beautiful and very popular tourist resort. Don%26#39;t go expecting lots of business folks walking around.

Oh dear, I had no idea there were replies to my post! Thanks guys for all that information.

I decided to book both nights at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru as I got a pretty good price that included a buffet dinner. Planning to spend one day at the pool at Tanjung Aru and another day at the Rasa Ria (for the orang utan sanctuary and the nicer beach there). So I will actually get to enjoy both hotels :)

Can%26#39;t wait!
