Hi. Rasa is out out town to the north and sutera harbour and tanjung ara are both to the south close to the airport (and much closer than the Rasa to town). Hyatt is slap bang in the centre of town, so it depends what you want from your stay really!

All the out of town hotels have great facilities as I m sure you will have checked out, but they are also a taxi ride into KK itself. Hyatt has a pool deck at the front and a shopping centre at the back.

KK is great, I am sure you will enjoy it wherever you stay

Hi Sunsoaker - question is also are you resort people, or are you get-out-and-do-stuff people?

If you are the former, then you%26#39;ll probably be quite happy in Rasa Ria. There%26#39;s plenty to do, a super big beach, golf, swimming, ATVs, orang utangs, surfing, you name it. A shuttle bus goes to town for if you want to spend a day or so shopping and if you want to go to Mt. Kinabalu, white water rafting and the lot, tour companies will pick up from the hotel same as the others.

If however you like exploring and going out on lots of little trips, one of the city-based resorts might be an option. The Pacific Sutera is part of Sutera Harbour, a huge resort build on reclaimed land not 5 minutes from the city centre. Also lots to do, 27-holes of golf, bowling, a cinema, watersports and just 10 minutes way from the islands. No big beach though, but plenty of swimming pools. The higher floor in the Pacific is, in my opinion, some of the best views you can have from a hotel room in KK.

The Hyatt gives up everything resort - it%26#39;s a city hotel and is surrounded by all the shopping, restaurants and night-spots you can handle. If you%26#39;re using your hotel mostly as a base from where to launch your adventures, then the Hyatt is a good option.

thanks for your reply, think ill see if we can get a good deal on pacific sutera hotel, and stay nearer the city. we plan to do trips most days when we are in kk. cant wait to get there!!
