Hiring a van for 8 people?

Hi,

We are traveling as a group with four adults and four children. We are thinking of getting hop on hop off bus tickets - in total this will cost us around 220 MYR. I%26#39;m wondering if it might be better for us to hire an 8 seater van and pay by the hour to do a similar route.

Can anyone give us some idea of what it might cost to hire a van for a half day. I know the going rate for a cab is around 20 MYR per hour - would a van be double that?

If anyone has a suggested driver that would help as well. I have kept the card of the driver who drove us in a van from the LCCT terminal to Bukit Bintang on our last trip - so could make contact with him. Just not really sure how much we should be paying.

Any advice appreciated.

It%26#39;s not that easy to find info on a van/driver for 8 , or our case 10. I%26#39;ve been contacted %26#39;privately%26#39;, but not sure if that is such a good thing. Anyway, at least this post that we are both interested in will get bumped back up.

I know the airport vans probably seat 8 people.

We used one last year with four of us plus heaps of luggage.

I%26#39;m just not sure if they only do hotel to airport - or if they can be hired like a normal taxi around the city. (and what the rate is).

Hard to find out.
