october weather and getting to redang

Hi!

Just wodnering if it would be worthwhile visiting redang in october, or whether the weather is different in different parts of malaysia and make it better to visit in october.

Also, I cannot seem to find how to get to redang. I will be coming from penang or from kuala lumpar. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

october weather and getting to redang

october is the start of the monsoon season on the east coast of peninsular malaysia and would advise not visiting Redang at this time of the year

Redang Island can still visit until end of October..normally monsoon season will started from November till February every year.

Penang to Kuala Terengganu by firefly..its take 1hour journey

Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu by MAS and Airasia..1hour journey

First 2 weeks in Oct should be fine. You can check weather nearer to the travel dates.

1) Malaysia Airlines - KL %26gt;Kuala Trengganu airport, then a 30 mins taxi to Merang jetty to connect for a boat ride

2) - 8 hrs ride from KL or Penang. From KL will have a wider choice in schedule.

thanks a lot everyone. any other suggestions on where else I could go for for the nice beaches in october?

Kapas Island,Lang Tengah Island and Perhentian Island also have great beaches..

thanks a lot. is the weather better at these places compared to redang?

As said by others above - forget the east coast from mid October as the monsoon is not a reliable weather pattern and may start early as it has in pervious years.

If you are looking for a beach in mid - late October, consider Langkawi as the wet season is finished by then.

Across the whole of Malaysia the weather patterns have changed.

That said, the weather is fairly consistent with little change between the wet (monsoon, as some might call it) and not wet (or dry) season...

Hot at about 30c to 35c

Humid at about 95% ++ humidity

Rain - it might rain - it might not rain. If it does rain, it is likely to be a heavy shower or thunder storm in the late afternoon or evening. Usually only last a couple of hours.

Sometimes, it might rain all day - but not very often.

Clothing - light weight and comfortable. Bring an umbrella %26amp; wear sandals.

Bottom line - even if it rains you will have FUN.
