Bus from Lahad Datu to Kinabatangan

Hi

Hoping to stay at Borneo Rainforest Lodge and then travel on to Kinabatangan Jungle Camp. I was hoping to travel from bus but can%26#39;t find any bus timetables on line. Can anyone help on this? I think BRL leave you back to LD around 1.30pm so need to check that it is viable to travel in the afternoon.

As long as you are before 6pm evening you will bw very safe.

They are plenty of mini bus from Lahad Datu to Kinabantangan.

The mini bus do not follow any time schdule, only travel when fully loaded.Ask driver the approx departure time???

You need to check this info out,get hold of Kinabatangan Jungle Camp to find out how far main road to camp,also phone contact to ask for pick up upon arriival.

Bus from Lahad Datu to Kinabatangan

Hi, we did the other way round-from KJC dropped off at main road junction at Sukau to LD and continue to Samporna. KJC arranged the car to drop us at the main road junction where mini buses will pick up customers to LD that was timed before noon. So my take should be mini buses will lv from LD to that same junction. To note the bus do not go all the way to the river jetty hence might be wise to contact KJC to arrange the pickups from the drop off point of the mini buses. Journey from junction to LD takes an hour+.

Thanks to you both - I guess that explains why there is no timetable!! I assume it is easy to find the minibus pickup point in LD? Also what is the cost likely to be?

For us was a whopping Rm25 pp. But not sure if due to the isolated place of waiting.....

Always ask around not just one person but at least two to verify the mini buses pickup point when u arr at LD. The driver who dropped us at LD is kind enough to send us all the way to the Samporna bus pickup point, after all the usual local passengers dropped off at the last point of drop off.

But think there are syndicates there operating out from those coming out of the River cruise and since our driver had told us indicative price so even the syndicate seems wanted to charge more but was not able to.

Wats the usual cost for the price then?

LD is an expensive town (surprisingly) although we stayed there for only less than an hr transit but from their food cost (in kedai) in comparison w/other towns. And the place is littered with rubbish even the locals from Sandakan couldnt help but complaining.

Btw, the mini bus from LD to Samporna costs Rm29 pp for about 2hrs drive and the price also applied to locals and annoucement notice on the bus. Again in comparison from our coach tix price from KK to Sandakan 6hrs comfortable big bus trip of Rm40 we could only shake our heads.

Just realised that we actually leave BRL at 1.30 so won%26#39;t arrive in Lahad Datu until about 4pm. Is this too late to try to get a bus to Sukau if they only go when full? We will be there in September. Should we overnight in Lahad Datu and try to get a bus the next morning? I have e-mailed KJC but haven%26#39;t received an answer yet.
