Hotel Istana club room

When searching for a nice hotelroom for four nights in Kuala Lumpur I found an offer on Istanas hompage.

You can book a clubrom at a good price for the period. Is there anyone of you experts who knows what they mean by ';complimentary cocktails in club lounge'; Does this also include alcoholic drinks and maybe snacks?

Yes, selected alcoholic drinks that you have to order from the menu, snacks %26amp; fing茅r food; and internet access. You will also have your breakfast here if you book the club rooms. There is also complimentary all day coffee and tea facility in the lounge; and complimentary pressing of one item daily included in the Club room rates.

Hotel Istana club room

Hi,

I have stayed many times at the Istana Hotel on their Executive/Club floor. The rooms are quite large and the service in the club lounge is excellent. A good breakfast is served in the morning, hot and cold drinks all day long and free alcoholic drinks and snacks in the evenings.

Generally, the staff that works in the lounge are the same people and they are specifically trained to work in the lounge. I would suggest that you get to know them and treat them well as they will in return treat you really well. Most foreigners will adhere to the cocktail hours and will leave like clock work when the time is over. We used to stay back much later and have free alcoholic drinks for as long as we wanted. Well, we tipped the staff quite well on a daily basis but it was much more cheaper to do that than to have a few drinks elsewhere. Keep in mind that you may not get the same treatment as this was above and beyond what they had to do. I was just a regular there and they knew me well.

You will enjoy the club floor service.

Thank you both for your valuable input.

Of course I understand that you should give some tip to the staff working in the club lounge. However, as this will be my first trip to Malaysia, and as I have no experience of staying in a club lounge like this, I would appriciate if anyone could give me a hint of what a decent tip level might be.
