Boat ambulance to ferry patients from Langkawi to Kedah

Bernama

A ';Boat Ambulance'; service would start operations on April 1, to ferry patients who are transferred from Langkawi to hospitals in Kedah or Penang, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad.

He said the special service, to be provided by the Marine Department, who will buy and maintain a boat that would be equipped with the same emergency equipments available on a normal ambulance.

';When the special service starts operations, it would help eliminate the problem of patients having to wait for normal ferry service when being transferred to hospitals in Kedah or Penang,'; he said after launching the Federal Territory celebrations for World Kidney Day 2009, here today.
