Hawker food near Jalan Ipoh

Hi all

I will be staying at Hotel Vistana at Jalan Ipoh next week. I would like to know if there is any hawker centre near the hotel to go for dinner. If there isn%26#39;t one near the hotel, where can we find a hawker centre which sells a variety of good Chinese food in kl city?

thks

Should have food within walking distance. Ask the hotel for recommendations.

Hawker food near Jalan Ipoh

I go for the Bak Kut Teh at Jalan Ipoh, the corner coffee shop to the left of Dynasty Hotel, separated by a small lane. Maybe you want to try that?

thks all for the replies...

yep, i have tried the bak ku teh already. We have packed it back to our hotel for dinner...very yummy indeed!

i recalled there is a street somewhere at Bukit Bintang (not the main road, but a street behind the main road) with hawker stalls. Maybe will go there to see if there is anything to eat...

Its called Jalan Alor. Go try it. Lots and lots of choices.

Jalan Alor is more for angmor, pretty overpriced. Try Jalan Petaling instead; there are plenty of small stalls there selling good and cheap original food like the roasted goose leg and there are plenty of other small air-conditioned restaurants selling dim sums and cooked dishes with rice.

Hi octopusmum

If u%26#39;re staying in Jln Ipoh, drive towards Sentul direction, there is this Chinese restoran (beside one lighting shop and opposite entrance of KL PAC) which serve very delicious hokkien mee, ginger clams, tilapia asam fish to name a few. Only serve dinner and u hv to be early to get a seat. For lunch, same direction as above but go to Segambut which is famous for the best seafood noodle(and also curry seafood noodle) in Malaysia. U definetly wld not regret it. Happy food hunting!

Oh yes I forgotten, Jln Ipoh is also very near to Jln TAR, which along the strecth is famous for many nasi Kandar stalls. I like one particular nearby Campbell Complex (corner shop). And lastly if u%26#39;re really adventurous then try to ask some chinese local on the famous pan mee noodles called Klin Klin restoran. Again this restoran u shld go before 12pm all else u will be standing very long to get ur seat. Cheers

HI all

wow, thks for the recommendations! they all sound good. will try to use google maps to find out the exact location and hopefully, with my hubby%26#39;s gps, we can track them down easily...no offence here but despite having gps and all, we tend to get lost within kl city everytime we visit! and this time round, if the weather is good, we%26#39;ll venture out to Kuala Selangor to see the fireflies...Really looking forward to that and of course the seafood. wish me luck that everything goes according to plan and we won%26#39;t get lost!

thks

The best place in Segambut for the curry noodles is called Yu Ai. My friend took us there and it was sensational.

But you can just go north of Sentul, around Batu Tigar (I think), and there are lots of food shops and hawker stalls. They start across the HSBC Bank in Jalan Ipoh road. We had some nice tim sum there one morning.

Yep there%26#39;s 2 shops specifically selling seafood noodles and one of it is Yu Ai. The other is just a few doors away. if u%26#39;re there don%26#39;t forget to try their %26#39;cheng tong%26#39; seafood noodles(their specialty) besides their curry noodles. And if you%26#39;re still thirsty, fr Yu Ai rest walk to the right and cross a small lane - there is one particular chinesse coffee shop that make the best %26#39;cam peng kow%26#39; (mixture of coffee %26amp; tea) - i bet its better than San Francisco mocha.
