City, Jungle and Beach itinery help needed please

Hello, Wonder if any experts can assist. Never been to Malaysia before but heard great things and wanted to know if its possible to go Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days then somewhere to see the orangutang%26#39;s ( is this only Bornio ) then onto a nice beach area. Any recommendations of areas as well as flight times between areas would be great. Total holiday would be 14 days.

Hi

Staying in Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days, and then flying off to see the Orang-Utans somewhere will be really easy.

My previous reply to you post will give a link to another post with some useful info about the various Sanctuaries in Malaysia.

If you are a nice beach area afterwards, then why not stay in Kuala Lumpur. Then head over to Kota Kinabalu, stay in Sandakan for a couple of days to see the Orang-Utans at Sepilok and maybe go to see the Proboscis Monkeys as well. Then go to stay at somewhere like the Rasa Ria Resort, plus you can then go to see the younger Orang-Utans at their santuary if you want. Shangri-la has another sister hotel of Tanjung Aru which is nearer Kota Kinabalu, but the beach is not as nice there, although you are well connected to go out to the islands nearby and enjoy them.

Then fly back to Kuala Lumpur for your flight home. You then only have to make the 3hour flight from KL to KK and then KK to KL twice.

Rather than head over to somewhere like Langkawi, Penang, or the small east coast islands like Perhentian Islands, Redang or Tioman (which also require a ferry to / from), which would require a 3hour flight to KL, then 40mins to Langkawi, Penang or Kuala Terengganu [for the east coast islands] plus transit time. It will optimise your 14 days.

The beaches at KK are better then Langkawi, and the water around the islands just off KK are beautifully clear and much clearer than in Langkawi (and 1000% clearer than Penang).

Hope this is useful.

have fun.

Thanks very much, just what I was looking for.
