Hi we will be on Langkawi some time in April and were wondering if Cenang is the best place to stay to be within walking distance of bars etc?
thanks
Night life
Yes. Chenang or Tengah...
Happy Planning!
Night life
Hi
Hope you are not expecting lots of clubs and the like as Langkawi is very laid back and quiet and the night life consists of just a meal and a drink and a stroll around.
Lesley
Hi, thanks for the info. We definately aren%26#39;t looking for a loud party place, if we wanted that we%26#39;d be heading to Thailand. We just want some chillin bars to hang in and have some quiet drinks with our friends.
We are pretty excited! Are there many fresh water swimming holes on Langkawi?
Jeremy
Dear Jeremy,
the only fresh water to swim in that I know of is The Lake of the Pregant Maiden in Pulau Dayang Bunting. And it is beautifully surrounded by mountains. Sometimes a bit crowded but in the afternoon you have a chance to be there alone!
You need a boat to get there and it is worth the tour. If you put in the keywords you will come to a post about it.
Have fun!
Eva
check out baskies post on waterfalls!
Isn%26#39;t Pregnant Maiden Lake in the sea?
Dear Chris,
the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden is on the island Pulau Dayang Bunting in the south of the archipelago. You can only get there by boat. It is a fresh water lake.
Eva
Pulau Dayang Bunting is part of the island hopping tour, it is popular and does get quite busy.
Cenang and Tengah are right next to each other, if you want a few bars and lots of restaurants (walking distance) it%26#39;s the only place to stay on Langkawi.
The area is also handy for the airport.
Thanks heaps guys i think we%26#39;re staying at the beach resort at Cenang so we can have restaurants and bars close by. Is hiring a car/ scooters a good idea for cruising around the island?
Also thanks for the info on the waterfalls we will definately check them out!
Hiring a car or a scooter is definitely a good idea, mate!
