Pangkor or Tioman in August?

We are planning to spend some day this August on one of the islands (Tioman or Pangkor) but we hesitate which is the better choice? In the guidebooks we read that the East coast of Malaysia is better in August, that would mean Tioman but our travel agent told that Pangkor is the better choice as it is less rainy on the West coast. What is now the truth? Could anyone help me in this query?

Pangkor or Tioman in August?

Whilst Pangkor is generally drier than Tioman during the November to February period, August is generally drier in Tioman. But this is the tropics so expect heavy rain from time to time in either island.

Ask yourself, what do you want from your holiday? Each island is small and quiet but if you are after the beaches and crystal water then head for Tioman.

Pangkor or Tioman in August?

hi there Csazksu,

generally march to September is a good time to visit east coast of malaysia as the monsoon normally start in october till feb.

pangkor or tioman, i should say it a different place in term of ambiance and thing to do.

pangkor and langkawi is a laid back island to relax and visit the manmade n nature attraction but the water at the west coast is generally not that clear as the east coast

me n family went to tioman n perhentian n redang to snorkel, nuff said

diving or snorkeling your stuff, head for east coast

cheers to all ..especially mskiaratravel

Thanks, guys, for the help. Actually the island would be the relax and beach part of our 3 week roundtrip in Malaysia.
