Sandakan to Sukau - by boat or by road

Hi everyone,

my future wife and me are planning a 3D/2N tour to Kintabanag river as part of our Sabah tour (organized by ourselves). I collected a lot of different offers from tour operators and direct from the lodges in Sukau. Some of them are offering transport to Sukau by road and some by boat. Could anyone say is it worth to pay an extra money just to go by boat to Sukau? In offers is stated that is possible to see wildlife while you are traveling by boat. Is it true? Or the boat is to fast?

If anyone could help me about my doubts I would be grateful.

Thanks!

Sandakan to Sukau - by boat or by road

We did the boat transfer to Kinabatangan River Lodge from Sandakan. We really enjoyed it - the boat ride was relaxing, and if the driver sees wildlife on the way he%26#39;ll stop. We saw a few macaques and a huge group of prob monkeys along the way. Plus we stopped at another lodge for lunch and had a chance to walk through the forest a bit before we continued on our journey.

It was much nicer to sit in a boat and relax on the water than to sit in a van on the road...
