KL to Genting and Shopping in KL

Hi all,

May friends and I would be going to Genting and KL in a few days time. Would like to check is there any transport from KL to Genting? Cause from what I know there is a free transport to Genting, however the last bus leaves all pickup points at 7pm. We would like to stay in KL longer before we proceed back to Genting.

And if there is no buses up to Genting and we were to take a taxi from KL, how much would it cost?

Please also advise whether we should make a trip to midvalley megamall or 1 Utama. I know they are quite a distance from KL central and maybe not very accessible. Are the shops there very similar to those at Bukit Bintang. Or should we just shop at Bukit Bintang area.

Please advise. Thank you very much. All your help is very much appreciated. :)

There is no such thing as free things in this world.

The journey to Genting (all the way up there is going to take 1.5 hours). The outdoor theme park closes at 7-8; so why stay in KL longer before going? I would go there earlier and come back earlier because most shops and malls in kl are open til 10pm. The buses depart every hour from many many stations in KL; please look here for a schedule and pricing.

Taxi might cost up to RM 200-300 depending on taxi driver. Fixed price is usually RM 120 but only if you buy a coupon from KL Sentral and get the cab from there.

Midvalley is ONE Train stop away from KL Sentral. There is no need to go there because all the shops there are almost the similar to shops in BB, KLCC and Pavilion. Midvalley, 1U and the Curve are slightly different in terms that there are mostly locals there, more freshfood choices; all taxi drivers I%26#39;ve met there willingly use the meter without even asking; but most retail outlets are pretty similar to the ones in the city.

Hope it helps and happy planning!
