kinabatangan accomodation

Hi Everyone

Myself and my wife to be are planning on driving from KK to Semporna and spending a few days in the Kinabatangan on our way.We are looking for some reasonably comfortable accomadation in the area.We%26#39;re not looking for 5 star but something a bit more comfortable than some of the lodges that are available.

We were looking at something like %26#39;Bilit adventure lodge%26#39; or %26#39;The last frontier resort%26#39;.

However most of the options include transport from Sandakan.

Can we drive directly to the Sukau/Bilit area and organise our own accomodation?

What would be our best option?
