Advice on travelling to Kuala Lumpur
I would definately recommend Capitol Hotel - budget but clean. Really central to all the sights and within walking distance to Times Square Mall which is a must for shopping.
Advice on travelling to Kuala Lumpur
I would suggest the Bukit Bintang area rather than China Town or Little India.
Hi
I would agree with a budget hotel in the Bukit Bintang area, look at hotels like
Nova, Bintang Warisan, Fortuna, Seasons View, Agora,
Bukit Bintang 鈥?A great place for shopping and eating. Sungai Wang/BB Plaza [500 shops and a real Malaysian treat of all sorts of bargains hidden away], KL Plaza, Times Square [which also has a theme park], Pavillion [Mid to top end shops and also the best food court which is reasonably priced, very good mix of restaurants plus a supermarket], Lot 10 [also has a supermarket], Starhill Gallery [very top end but some very nice reasonably priced restaurants], Plaza Low Yat [IT mall], YTL Plaza, BB Park, Imbi Plaza for shopping, plus there are many open fronted shops which offer some great bargains and are identical to those in Chinatown and then there is Jalan Alor is a great place for street food and many restaurants along Bukit Bintang. Ain Arabia or Arab Street is just around the corner in Jalan Berangan, the shopping haven and food and culture of the Arabs in Malaysia. No end to the variety at Bukit Bintang.
Night life in in Bukit Binatng, Jalan Ampang or P Ramelee well connected on the cheap bus and monorail systems. Night Market is in Chinatown.
Bukit Bintang is also a good walk (20mins) to Chinatown / Little India, or a ride the bus / monorail. 1 stops on the monorial to Jalan Ampang or P Ramelee.
Visas on arrival FOC for British Passport holders, for 90 days usually.
Have fun.
hiya i would defo go for the Allson Genesis Hotel just 1 minute off bukit bintang i got home this week andd stayed at this hotel and found it brilliant it was so clean rooms we,r top and very cheap maggieomx
I%26#39;d recommend the D%26#39;Oriental Inn in Chinatown, good location, right in Petaling street - walk out of the hotel into the markets. We paid Rm99 in October for a twin room and it was great. You%26#39;ll get your visa on arrival at the airport.
I stayed at the Equatorial. Not sure how cheap it is as I booked as part of a package.
It%26#39;s close to a monorail station (Raja Chulan) making all areas of the city reachable. KLs public transport system is v. good.
Thanks to everyone , ,we tried a few but all were fully booked for the dates we are travelling. We have decided to go with travellingmitch who recommened seasons view.I contacted hotel by email and got a reply unfortuntaley they do not do airport pickups.could anyone advice on best form of transport to get to seasons view hotel from kuala lumper international airport. Also how long to get to hotel and what should we expect the fare to be.
Sorry for all the questions.
thanks in advance

Honestly; you are better off around Chinatown at D%26#39;Oriental Inn and HOtel Chinatown Inn/2. They are much newer hotels. I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Seasons view; but I can tell you from my outside impression - there are dirty laundry from the rooms hanging out; lots of Myanmar and Bangladeshi refugees/illegal immigrants staying around the area packed all into one apartment, the place is filthy full of rubbish and food remenants; you see Ah Kuas/transvestites/gigolos hanging around the area at night. Its more like a red light area at some parts and if you think you are comfortable with the location, then go ahead. Otherwise; stick to Jalan Petaling where there its not really a red light area; more of a shopping/night market area. Please take a look here:

And regarding the airport transfer: You will be flying into the Low Cost carrier terminal with AirAsia; which is 30km away from the international/main terminal. The cheapest way is to catch the Skybus to KL Sentral (RM9 per person) and then buy a taxi coupon (RM 9 per way) to your hotel. You can also try Star Wira. You will find more information about Skybus and Star Wira (and their website links) here:
