If you buy duty free in another country then leave kuala Lumpor via lcct the same day and its not in your checked luggage will it be confiscated ?
what i,m saying if you bought alchol in Aussie england or Singapore then flew to thailand would it be cofiscated? Grumphy
Duty Free Via Lcct
Yes, if its more than 100ml and its in your handcarry. Dunno how you transit in LCCT; but if you have to exit, collect your luggage and re-enter/recheck-in again for the LCCT-BKK flight; then obviously the transparent bag is no longer valid. You can stash it in your check-in luggage; then it won%26#39;t be confiscated from your hand luggage.
Duty Free Via Lcct
Hi
Yes, your duty free would be confiscated unless you put it into your checked in suitcase. You could however not buy any beforehand, and then buy what you want at LCCT.
Your other option would be to buy it in KL at the duty free shop at the LCCT before you board for Thailand. There is only one shop selling alcohol - but it had a reasonable range and similar prices to Aus.
Caroline.
Oyster now you are saying Penang is a exspensive Destination. The Maylasian people are friendly and very helpful i have never had any problems with taxi drivers in K/L only in Penang.plus accomadation is cheaper in K/L. Grumphy
I can%26#39;t see where I actually say Penang is expensive.
my words are
';that would make your trip very expensive, and having saved lots of money not going to Penang you would not like that would you';
The empahsis on expensive here would be you having your duty free confiscated and in your opinion woud make your [malaysian element of] holiday expensive in your view. The reference to to Penang was purely ironic and tongue in cheek as a reference to you not liking thinking it is expensive, which I do not agree with.
