Is Borneo and KK safe for a woman travelling alone?

I am planning to go to Borneo beginning of May, on my own. I am used to travelling on my own but was wondering if any of you have any tips on what places to avoid for a 30 something girl on her own etc... I am planning on going to the Mount Kinabulu, the rain forest and some sea resort for diving...so any tips?? thank you!!!

If it is only Sabah you are visiting, sorry, I cannot help other than to say %26#39;apply the usual common sense%26#39;.

BUT, if you are going to Sarawak, I can offer town/village spesific advice.

Sabah is safe and there are no specific places to avoid as such. As a single traveller, and being from London, I%26#39;m sure you have plenty of street-smart, which will keep you out of trouble :)
